Sorry Dody, I used the pun again. But how could it be avoided when Finn was dressed as a puppy???
Holidays have always been a BIG deal in our family. I mean BIG. Growing up, it seems like every week we were decorating the house, making something crafty, or wearing something festive pertaining to one holiday or another. Let me see if I can explain with an example. Every major holiday (and some not so major) warranted my mother buying a pair of Keds and painting them with holiday themed images. For Easter, it was the bunny, eggs, and baskets. For Christmas, reindeer, Santa, and jingle bells. Halloween, well you get the picture. And that's just the beginning. When it's tacky Christmas sweater party time, everyone calls my mom....but make sure to bring the sweaters back pronto because that's what she's wearing to school on Monday. And the fairies...oh, the fairies. There is a fairy pertaining to every event, holiday, and birthday. The applicable fairy to the day being celebrated will visit in the night and either decorate the house or leave you a special treat...maybe both! The birthday fairy, the test fairy (leaves healthy snacks for brain power and new pencils), the back-to-school fairy, the leprechaun, the tooth fairy of course, the sister fairy (for when a certain jealous big sister needed a little reassurance that she was still the queen), the list goes on and on. I tell you all of this to say that these are the things that made growing up a Gaston so much fun. Believing in magic and fairies may seem silly to some, but it's one of the ways my mom made my childhood grand. I hope that I can continue these traditions with Finn. I'd say we're off to a pretty good start. :)

Halloween treats from Nana: the candy is for me, highlighters for Matt, and notice she didn't forget the dogs!

Not happy. Maybe it's because his mother put Halloween knee-highs on him! |

I don't think much candy is going to fit in that pumpkin Finn. |

Check out that tail! |
