9 Month Pictures

I guess I'd better post these before Finn is 10 months old (i.e. in 4 days!). When I came up with this genius idea of taking Finn's picture with these wooden numbers, I did not consider that when he got older/more mobile/totally wild and crazy it would become very difficult to elicit cooperation from him for our monthly photo shoot. Well, that time has come. Lord only knows what I'm going to do this month when there are 2 numbers to deal with.

Here was attempt #1, completed without the help of any other adults:

Ok, well the last one was a joke, but I thought it might be the best we could get! I decided not to further compromise Finn's safety (since he wanted to dive straight out of the brown chair) or my sanity since my family was coming the next night.

Round 2 went a little better, but Finn was so excited to see his Nana, Dody, and G.G. that he was feeling quite silly:

 "You can't catch me!"

"I'm 6 months old! Wait, I'm not?"

 "This is right! No?!"

"Did you want one of me standing?"

 Now he's getting it right!

9 months has definitely been our favorite so far. Finn has such a special little personality and he lets it shine all the time! He will let you know quickly what he likes and doesn't, and seems to learn a new trick almost daily. He can hold his own bottle now (thank goodness) and claps his hands together when you say "Yaaaaay!" He has become a great dancer and can really shake it if a good song is on. Gravy biscuits are his favorite food. Don't worry, he eats healthy things usually.....that's just a weekend treat. I think he's been saying "Myrtle" but have been told (gently) by several that he is most likely not actually calling the dog. Whatever, sounds like it to me.  :)  He thoroughly enjoyed his 9 month pediatrician's visit (loved the attention from the nurses), especially since it was a "no shots" visit! He weighs 20 lbs. 11 oz. (46th percentile) and is 30 inches long (90th percentile!). What a big guy! Can't wait to see what the future holds for this cute boy.
